The Phoenix Society

The Phoenix Society celebrated its' sixth birthday in August 2006. The Society was formed in August 2000 and comprises a small a group of Lisburn Distillery supporters (including the club chairman) who are involved in active fund raising and development work for the club.

The Society acts independently of the two supporters clubs and meets on a regular basis to carry out the aims of the Society.

The Society, with the help and generosity of Lisburn Distillery supporters, sponsors and others, have so far raised around £40,200 for the club from a number of events. These have included events like " Classic Poker Nights","Nights at the Races" and the "Supa Striker" sponsorship campaign in conjunction with the "White's Matchday Programme".

The biggest event in terms of financial contribution and profile has been the "Annual Dinner & Auction ". This event has grown over the years and now has an important place in the Lisburn Distillery event calendar. Details on the March 2007 event will be posted during the lead-in period this season.

The Society continues to work on and look at a number of other areas that they hope will be of benefit to Lisburn Distillery. They encourage all supporters to 'support Lisburn Distillery' and actively get involved with what is happening at the club and supporting events that are held for the benefit of the club.

In the past the Society were involved with developing the profile of the club, working with the media on club news, and community relations development via youth and schools projects. The Society also keep supporters involved with their events and progress through the programme and website.

The Society 'power' the club's official website and are also keen to hear views or comments on areas or items that the Phoenix Society can get involved in that will hopefully benefit the club. You can pass these on to secretary Louis Boyle or treasurer Terry Thompson by emailing them at Phoenix Society.

Website Information

The Lisburn Distillery Website was established by Johnny McKinstry and went live at the start of the 1999-2000 season. The site is seven years old this season and although we have no visitor figures over the lifetime of the site, we welcome all visitors, particularly those who follow this famous club.

As with most sites over the summer, we have undergone a revamp in terms of layout and colour scheme. We have introduced a number of changes this season and the most significant change has been the introduction of the secure on-line Lisburn Distillery shop, in association with Vi-Sport. You can purchase club merchandise and other top quality sports goods and products through the shop and every pound that you spend benefits the club. So, shop on-line here.

Our priority is to keep you up to date with what is happening at the club, be it results, news or whatever. If we can achieve that and get people involved with the club then the website team will be happy.

The site has been maintained and updated by members of the Phoenix Society at New Grosvenor for the past six seasons now. As anyone involved with a website knows, it is a big commitment and to to do that we need material and information so thank you to our regular contributors for their contributions and efforts in the coming season.

We simply ask that you respect the site and do not breach the normal copyright and other laws associated with the site content. If you need information or want to use material from the site please contact us before you use anything.

Thank you for visiting us, we hope that you will continue to visit and support Lisburn Distillery over the course of the 2006-2007 season. We are moving on again and 2006-2007 will be another big season. Join us and look on the White side of life.

You can contact the website on Lisburn Distillery Website Team
