Lisburn Distillery enjoy playing at Saintfield.Exactly two years
to the day that the Whites won 5-0 in Co Down, they went one better
with this 6-1 victory.
It
was Andrew Waterworth who grabbed the headlines, his power and pace
enabling him to net the opener in the opening ten minutes.Whilst
the United defence hesitated he took he advantage to fire home.
He grabbed another two in the 49th and 54th minutes. The first saw
him run in behind the United defence to blast home from 15 yards
out, his second strike saw the ball crossed across goal to Waterworth
who swivelled and sent a left foot close range drive into the roof
of the net.
After
that goal the Whites racked up a number of chances, however they
had only led 2-1 at the break, United had a purple patch towards
the end of the first half.
Under
pressure, keeper David Wilton lost out on a high ball and Paul Sheeran
kept his cool to fire into the empty net from the edge of the box
(38 min). Back though came the Whites, Ryan Catney running into
the box but his shot came off the far post and was cleared. The
clearance though resulted in a foul and from a short free kick Gareth
McKeown smashed a low drive into the corner of the net.
Wilton
then redeemed himself with two quality saves right before the half-time
whistle. He kept out a near post effort from Saintfield number 10,
Johnny Wallace, and then tipped over a good effort from Adam Kelly.
The
visitors had the upper hand throughout and on 70 mins Michael Ferguson
scored from a superb chip. Virtually out on the touchline, he looked
up and sent the ball wide, beyond the keeper, and in.
Gareth
McKeown ntted the final goal four minutes later, a corner was cleared
but McKeown hit a dipping volley from some 25 yards out into the
top of the net.
