Lisburn Distillery Seconds 4 Newry City Res 0 (HT 2-0)

Match Report from David Taylor The LIne-up

This was a game where the Whites were always on top, right from the first whistle, and Waterworth soon showed his intent with two quick breaks, when he left defenders trailing in his wake, but sadly pulled his final shots wide of the mark.

Undaunted he finally broke the deadlock when he scored twice in the first half and others could have found the net as well but failed to tuck away numerous opportunities.

The second half was a continuation of the first and in the 60th minute Dickson scored a peach of a goal, the keeper kicked a poor clearance from the right hand edge of his box, and before he could get back into his goal, Dickson coolly slotted the ball into an empty net from fully 30 yards out, a beauty. Then to round the night off Patton lobbed the ball over the keeper, to give the Whites a comfortable 4-0 win

Manager's Comments

Never in trouble at any stage of the game, this was an easy win for the Whites and they played well within themselves. Alderdice and Magee where excellent in defence, while Bell and Johnston ran the middle of the park, up front Waterworth’s pace was electric, until he went off, and even without the three first teamer’s, who were taken off after 65 minutes, we were always looking to add to the score line.
