Lisburn Distillery Seconds 1 Limavady Utd Res 1 (HT 0-0 )

Match Report from David Taylor The LIne-up

The first half was an uneven contest, dominated by a young Limavady side who created a number of chances, but fortunately Wilton was in good form.

This coupled with some poor finishing from the visitors, allowed the Whites to go in on equal terms at the break.

A poor game was beginning to come to life, as both sides were now starting to make openings, but again poor finishing, and some good saves continued to ensure the sides stayed even.

Then out of the blue in the eightieth minute, two of the Whites' substitute’s combined to set up a chance for McQuillan.Waterworth sent Neill away down the right and his cross to the far post was volleyed home by McQuillan, to give the Whites the lead.

Limavady continued to push for an equaliser, and with two minutes left on the clock, equalised, when a corner driven in from the right was unfortunately turned into his own goal by Waterworth.

Manager's Comments

We were poor, and if they had taken the lead and we had equalised, I would have been grateful for the point, but instead I feel as though we have dropped two points, when we really didn’t even deserve one.

There was no spark in our play, even when we took the lead Limavady were the better team, no one, other than Wilton, Cooling and Magee, can take any credit from this game.
