In a line .......Managers' Views

Lisburn Distillery made it eight wins on the trot, six in the Carnegie Premier league, with a win at a venue they have found it hard to get points from in the past, Lakeview Park.

Victory looked assured as the rampant Whites went in two-up at the break thanks to another brace from Marty Verner. They could have opened the scoring inside the opening minute but Conor Hagan was unable to beat Marc Robinson, the Loughgall keeper stabbing out a foot to block the ball.

Brian Pentland then cleared a Darren Armour header off the goal-line at the back-post before Verner put the Whites ahead on 12 minutes. Whilst everyone watched, Gareth McKeown's throw was flicked on and Verner volleyed the ball home from six yards out (see picture opposite).

It was all one-way traffic at this stage and the Whites added a second on 33 minutes thanks to McKeown's quick thinking. He slipped the ball into Verner whilst Loughgall were getting themselves organised for the free-kick and the number ten showed his composure to beat the defence and slot the ball inside the far post.

The Whites perhaps thought the game was over at that stage because they allowed Loughgall into the game in the second half and Phil Matthews denied Paul Baron twice before chances were created at the home end.

James Bell was narrowly wide on two occasions and John Martin was just off target shortly afterwards before Gareth Liggett pulled one back for Loughall seven minutes from time to make it a nervous last few minutes for the visitors who survived to move up one place to sixth in the table, one point behind fifth placed Crusaders.
