Martin
brace secures easy passage
The
Whites could have gone 1-0 up in the opening minute, James Willis
broke down the right and into the box but instead of squaring
the ball to Sean Armstrong he shot into the side netting.
DC
fullback John Annsley then put two good crosses into the goalmouth
and had anyone got a touch on the second of these the Whites could
have been in trouble.
Sean
Hanna shot wide before the Whites took control. On 16 minutes,
Andy Kilmartin's corner bounced around the area bfore being cleared
to Aaron Johnston. The youngster whipped the ball back into the
box and John Martin flicked it on into the goal.
Twelve
minutes later it was two nil after Sean Armstrong had been tripped
by Sean Fox on the edge of the area and Kilmartin fired home the
spot kick.
On
39 minutes Michael Dougherty made his only save, from Kevin Duff,
before the Whites should have increased their lead. Armstrong,
centre of the area shot straight at DC keeper Sean McGreevy. Three
minutes later Paul Muir and Stuart Thompson both attacked the
ball following a corner and the ball came back of the keeper on
his line.
After
the break it was all one way traffic, DC trying to play a passing
game throughout never troubled the Whites and Martin grabbed his
second on 56 minutes. He swivelled on the edge of the box to turn
in a long pass from Gareth McKeown and the shot had just enough
pace to beat the defence to the back of the net.
Two
minutes later a mix-up between Martin and McKeown saw another
chance go amiss. Muir fired over on 64 minutes before the visitors
manager was dismissed from the dugout after having words with
the referee.
Armstrong
scored number four on 77 minutes, Willis doing the legwork, drawing
out the keeper and passing to Armstrong who made no mistake from
10 yards out.
Seven
minutes from time Willis grabbed the fifth and final goal, comning
in at the nearpost to stee Chris Mcgaharan's cross into the net.
